Twitter Stream
by Matthew Horoszowski on Mar.29, 2010, under Domain, Website
Another update to the way the site works: Automatic Twitter posts.
Quite a while ago I set up a number of twitter accounts for the domain, and used to post our events there.
This was done manually, and thus eventually I stopped.
But I have now added a little plugin that will automatically tweet any posts that make it to the website (including updates to posts).
So if you use twitter, follow NYC-Camarilla for updates from this site!
Updated Our Event Calendar
by Matthew Horoszowski on Mar.29, 2010, under Domain, Website
Hey all,
So when I redid the site in WordPress I made us of a plugin to do our event management.
I have not been very happy with that solution, as it caused a bit of extra work to get events displayed, with no gain.
As a result I have dumped that plugin, and instead opted to keep our events on a google calendar, with displays on our site of said calendar.
The events on the right now load in from google via Ajax.
The events menu on the top brings you to a google calendar widget for our site.
And if you click through on the +Google button, you can go straight to the actual google calendar (and form there add to your calendar program, if you have one).
I will still be making the monthly game announcements to our mailing list, though now I will make the post first in the website (as one single post) and then send that post via email to the mailing list.
That is all

New Members Q&A
by Matthew Horoszowski on Mar.23, 2010, under Other
Hey, everyone!
We’ve got a bunch of new members in the domain, and I’ve been getting lots of questions like:
What’s Prestige?
Where are the Ordeals located?
Who do I talk to about getting into the database?
How do I get involved in plot?
What are the other venues like?
What are some easy ways for me to get prestige?
Are there any positions open at the moment?
Holy crap, we have a wiki?
What do I need to put an approval in for?
Is Marvin single? (continue reading…)

Channel 7 News Report – A Serial Murderer On The Loose
by Matthew Horoszowski on Mar.18, 2010, under Media Story, Sin-Eaters
Diana Sorte, the female news anchor of the channel 7 news has had a drastic change in her appearance since her last time on air. She was a strawberry blond with a pair of green eyes that showed a lot of fire and passion for her job. Today, she has dark brown hair and her eyes are clearly nervous. Her voice and body language are her usual calm, collected self; but her eyes speak volumes of fear.
“Today the police chief had a press conference outside city hall to speak on what the police are doing to find an apparent serial killer, a killer that has already claimed the lives of three young women around the city.”
New Signal On The Air Waves
by Matthew Horoszowski on Mar.10, 2010, under Sin-Eaters
To anyone who pays attention to the local Twilight Network, a message will go out indicating you to tune into a particular pirate radio frequency at 5:45pm every even numbered day. To anyone who does so, for 10 minutes or so, a message is repeated again and again, with a 30 second space between repetitions.
The audio signal in question: mp-4b97d05124969

Channel 7 News Report
by Matthew Horoszowski on Mar.05, 2010, under Media Story, Sin-Eaters
Friday 5:00pm – On the channel 7 news:
A female news anchor is trying to keep a straight face while she reads the prompter, looking a bit nauseous.
“Breaking news story coming to us from Corona, Queens. A woman was found murdered there earlier today. We go to Herald Williams in Queens for more.”
The news switches over to the reporter on the scene a young fit man with dark spiky hair. He started to speak as in the background the police are cording off an area with red and blue lights flashing over and over again.
“Tragedy strikes Queens today. A young woman was found strangled and brutally stabbed in an alley just outside of a popular late night deli. The victim’s blood was then taken and smeared on the aley walls, in the form of some unusual and crude symbols.”
